Punjabi language

Punjabi language is from India not Pakistan. Some people speak punjabi pakistan as well but that doesn’t mean language is from pakistan.
If UK and Canada are the second and third largest population for sikhs after India, It does not mean you’ll say punjabi is from UK or Canada?
